The Leica M240 in a closer look is by far the better of the digital M bodies. When launched back in 2012, Leica pulled all the stops and loaded the M240 with features the M10 and M11 have omitted, Film mode is gone, if you shoot black and white the M240 film mode had presets for contrast filters <yellow, gree, red ,orange and blue. you don't have to screw filters on the lens and correct for the filter factor, DNG compression option gone. Colour profile selection of sRGB or Adobe RGB were also removed on the M10 and 11, that is important option for gamut space selection for the colour range in a file. Video was also removed, some say good, I myself say bad, it was easy to record quick video interviews with sound when news gathering, sound bites of the actual scene you can't do this with the M10 or M11. frame colour selection between red and white has been omitted on the M10 and 11. I use red to tell me i'm in colour mode , white that im shooting in black and white. Battery, on the M10 its half the size, M11 a little better but the M240 battery is king. I have a M10-p and an M240, I use the M240 most of the time. The M10-p is quieter, has Wifi and is thinner, but limited to features I need for day to day work, I always have a laptop with me so I own load the files via SD card reader, it's faster and saves the camera battery. I didn't know all these features were removed on the M10 series, if I did I would have looked for a M240-P instead. Between the files you can't tell a difference especially on a print, They are Identical. M11 to many megapixels at full resolution that slow shutter speed blur can be seen. 24MP is perfect, the sweet spot really. 60 MP sounds impressive but 100MP is were you would see a real difference on a print. M240 solid brass top and bottom plate, M10 is the same but black chrome not premium black paint. M11 Aluminum.

Ahh yes , I watched this about 3 -4 years ago when i had just set up my darkroom, it`s interesting because i`m all about saving money at the moment after having spent a bomb on different size paper and trays over the last few years. Have just ordered 3 x 7 x 5 trays and a box of multi grade 7 x 5 paper. Sometimes the minimalist approach is always best.

I've used the link and tried to download the drivers for my epson v500 photo about 15 times now on my Mac IOS 10.15, and it doesn't show up on my applications. I'm going crazy. The utilities will download and show but not the drivers with the actual scanning software

I own M240. It totally sucks. When one owns an expensive Leica camera to justify the crazy price he/she paid for, will say good thing about the camera. The noise is horrible about ISO800. Just buy M10 if you have the budget, or else buy any other digital cameras and use adapters to mount vintage lenses to it

Great review, and pointing out the flaws of single trigger limitation. But to be honest for a 7 year old Nissin Air 1 Commander, it's pretty decent for majority of hobbyists

I think the high iso performance is not very good at all ive taken landscape shots in winter at 3200 and the noise ruins and muddys the image considerably

Thanks, Nathan! My problem is a bit different. I do have Epson Scan 2 installed via my WF-3460. The problem I have is, I can't get my Epson Perfection V500 Photo to show up in the the Epson Scan drop down menu for selecting scanners. Only the Epson WF 3460 shows up. I've updated the V500 driver for Mac OS Ventura. Epson Scan 2 does not show up as a download option on Epson's site. This is a bummer. Apple's scan utility for the V500 is very basic and not adequate in my opinion. I switched from Windows 10 a couple years ago and with Windows, I never had problems with printing and scanning. I'm very surprised at how inadequate the print and scan modules are with the Apple OS, especially since in the past they always catered to the publishing and visual arts community. I always had bugs and obsolete driver issues odd issues with the Windows OS, but never with Epson printing and scanning.

Just noticed the 18-55 has a newer firmware update. I think it's from 2023. I lens I don't have, but am looking at. So, question. Can I have pics on the SD card that I use to upgrade the firmware?

When, as a kid, I first tried my hand with photography the only camera I had used 828 roll film and it came with a info sheet.... and it showed the basic "sunny 16 rule". That was all I had to work with. That was sixty years ago. I wish I could tell my pictures from my dads. They are just totally mixed with zero chance of dividing them. I am sure most of mine were not the best of the bunch!! You managed your F-stops well. Good walkabout.

To be fair not many m5 have working lightmeter ;/ To get in really good condition i search a lot. Actually i have m4 but m5 is my second goal.

Awesome! I think I really need to learn this step as well myself, it was inspiring to see that this whole process can be made on so small space. Many setups I see takes huge amount of space, but cool to see that you can actually do it on a desk space!

Hello great video. I tried to update my lens for the XH1 and it downloads a VLC video player, file name XFUPOQ15 DAT. when you click on it it opens a media player. help!! please NEW TO FUJI. bought camera today.

Thanks for the great video and the tip. I have an Epson Perfection V370 Photo scanner that always worked fine until I migrated to mac Ventura. Then my trusted Epson Scan 2 software stopped working. When selecting macOS 13.6.1 Ventura as my operating system, Epson wanted me to use a different Epson version of their software, which was no where near as good as Epson Scan 2, or to purchase VueScan which costs $100.00 - $ 150.00 to own. Thanks to your tip, I selected Epson V330 and macOS 10.15, installed the software, and everything works perfectly, just as it did before the OS upgrade. Thanks again!!

A beautiful hidden gem.

As all electronic devices, there's a very high possibility the M240 breaks and no repair from Leica (after 10 years). I would be happy to add a M240 to my M10-P as a backup camera but that's a high risk for a job... A M10 would be more secure.
